EducAid is the main charity that we support here at Stockport Grammar School.
EducAid is based in Sierra Leone and provides an educational network of free schools, teacher training and tertiary-level education to vulnerable young people.
The charity is UK registered and aims to eliminate poverty by empowering young people to build a better future for themselves through education.
EducAid runs 10 schools: 5 secondary schools and 5 primary schools which provide a holistic education to more than 2500 young Sierra Leoneans. In addition, EducAid runs classes in female wings of 3 prisons and run farms on three school sites to feed the students.
EducAid places strong importance in gender equality and runs strong women-focussed programmes such as the Girl Power group, the Women’s project and the Girls’ safe house. EducAid applies this pro-equality determination to everything they do.
